The story is set in an alternate fantasy world, where the player arrives as a traveler from another dimension. Old Era (Before the player arrives): The world is bathed in an energy known as "X Energy," a powerful and pervasive force that flows through all living things. While X Energy enhances the combat abilities of creatures, it often results in the loss of sanity. Those affected are turned into mindless monsters known as "Aberrants". They dominate the majority of the world, claiming most of the land and resources. But a small group of people exposed to X Energy gained extraordinary abilities while retaining their sanity. These individuals, known as Mutants, established city-states as safe havens to protect themselves from the chaos caused by the Aberrants. The Aberrants, lacking intelligence, are unable to breach the city-states built by the Mutants. However, the number of Mutants is limited, and they lack the resources to maintain large safe zones. As a result, they must venture outside to gather resources. The Aberrants couldn't evolve, while the Mutants grew stronger. In XXXX, the Mutants launched a counterattack, reclaiming most of the world, though it remained under city-state rule, without a unified nation. Modern Era (When the player arrives): With the Aberrants largely defeated, the remaining resources led to a period of rapid technological and mystical development. The city-states now hold absolute power over the world, and with no external threats left, conflict shifted to internal struggles—rival city-states clashing for dominance over resources and influence. The older leaders who fought in the war against the Aberrants still in power, while the new generation, who grew up in a time of peace, has begun to rise.
